It's always been a fear of mine to lose my hearing for the rest of my life. I will have to go without your syrupy laugh. And being alone terrifies. I want you here by my side. Gathering the dust and leaves round your knees. And looking at the feature film Eraserhead make me thrilled. Does he want to try and be happy? What if we drove north and then caught a ferry in the morning. Eaten alive by fog we'd be together on the other side.

I never said I was the best at this. Here I stand in the snow and I feel so goddamn small. Give me a daily dose to secure me for awhile. I can’t see why they’d ever want to change this. I never said I was the best at that.

The darkness here is in repose and all my fears are all I know. The darkness here is in your tone, not so shrill but undefined.

Don't get happy or think the world's not that bad. It'll be dark outside when you get back to your comfy bed. It’s like a slaughter shed. I see my friends’ days in this city reach an end and wonder if someday I'll be the last one that is left acting like a kid. What are the chances that I'm not ready to grow up? I’m not ready. I’m turning into my friends and my dad instead of my own person but hey that's how development is innocuous. What about pretension? What if I'm not ready to grow up? I'm not ready. And if you feel a hole inside just remember nostalgia never dies. This is your ego trip. Do not mistake it because you're not ready to grow up. You’re not ready.

There's a wind to fill your sails but how will it find you at the shore? Departing has appeal but then again it's dangerous. Cut the rope. The wind it whispers to me in passing and all through me from places that I've heard of. And if I cut the rope to leave this place entirely will I learn a different knot? There's so much in the way of my end in this bitter place.

Were the words that you wrote deliberate or did they come to you in a sermon? Were they given to you in the presence of benign intervention? Did you write the book or did it write you. Did you walk a mile in two left shoes. And the rocky foundation had no completion. The watery basin surrounding it all. Out there in the dark somewhere in the night and if you describe it then maybe you will find it. At the top of the mountain was an imposing structure with a dead man’s name. With the sunlight creasing lines on my face and a stomach churning emptiness I will go to the structure solemnly with my hood pulled up and at my feet is a watery basin no reflection no gorgeous voice guiding it all. I light a match and drop it below.
